In the hustle and bustle of our exciting Christmas party we forgot to take pictures! We really had a lot of fun this year. We missed Eden, but hopefully she will enjoy the little gifts she will be receiving from us! The remaining kids had a blast playing Christmas games and making a special gift for Moms and Dads and I think the most favorite of all was the making of gingerbread houses! What fun!
We hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday and we will see you Jan 5th, 2010!!

Our First Field Trip

We had a great first Field Trip to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm. We started out with the train ride, then hit the hay (literally) on the hay ride to find our pumpkins, and then drank yummy apple cider for our snack! So much fun! Thanks to all who came and participated and a special thanks for Teacher Dawn letting Superstar Kids Preschool tag-a-long as usual!!

Last Day of Our 1st Year of Preschool

It was a bittersweet day with our preschoolers today. We can't believe how fast this past year went. We really had a lot of fun with these sweet boys. We learned just as much from them as they did from us. We can't wait to see what this next year has in store for us...maybe a girl or two this time. By the way, we are looking for more students. Let your friends and neighbors know. We also have business cards to make it easier to let people know about us. We hope you enjoy this little video of our Graduation Ceremony. :) And thanks for a great first year!

Last Field Trip of the Year

We had a lot of fun at the Lincoln Fire Station. Captain Mike gave us a tour of the whole station and at the end the kids each had a turn at the hose. It was a fun trip with the Happy Kids Preschool along side us. Thanks teacher Dawn for putting this together and for the yummy treats! Also, a big thank you for Captain Mike and all his officers! They were wonderful!

Pretzel Bites

We made pretzel bites today. The kids poured all the ingredients, rolled out the dough and then the best part was eating them!! Here's the recipe if you want to do it at home! So easy and yummy!! (fyi: rather than make giant pretzels--we cut the rolled up dough and just made bites)

"'My husband, friends and family love these soft, chewy pretzels,' reports Sherry Peterson of Fort Collins, Colorado. 'Let your machine mix the dough, then all you have to do is shape and bake these fun snacks.'"
Ingredients:
1 1/8 cups water (70 to 80 degrees F)
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 quarts water
1/2 cup baking soda
coarse salt
Directions:
1. In bread machine pan, place the first four ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer. Select dough setting (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons water or flour if needed).
2. When cycle is completed, turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Divide dough into eight balls. Roll each into a 20-in. rope; form into pretzel shape. In a saucepan, bring water and baking soda to a boil. Drop pretzels into boiling water, two at a time; boil for 10-15 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain on paper towels.
3. Place pretzels on greased baking sheets. Bake at 425 degrees F for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Spritz or lightly brush with water. Sprinkle with salt.

PJ Day!

We had a fun time wearing our pajamas at school. We learned about the differences between night and day. The kids favorite time was when we shut out the lights and used a flashlight to make shadow puppets! The pancakes were a big hit, too!!

Enrolling for 09-10 School Year

It's that time of year again...time to think about enrolling your children in school for the new school year. This past year has just flown by. We've really enjoyed our time working with your children and we hope to continue on with some new children. Please, please, please tell your friends, family, and neighbors how much fun Superstar Kids Preschool is. We think it's been a very successful year and we just hope to have many more successful years to come. Thanks for your support!
